DCMA compliance notice
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a United States copyright law that addresses the rights and responsibilities of online service providers (OSPs) and copyright holders regarding copyrighted material shared on the internet. Under the DMCA, OSPs are provided with a safe harbor from liability for copyright infringement committed by their users, provided they adhere to certain requirements, including implementing a procedure for responding to takedown notices. When a copyright holder believes their work has been unlawfully used or distributed on a website, they can submit a DMCA takedown notice to the OSP hosting the allegedly infringing content. Upon receipt of a valid takedown notice, the OSP is obligated to promptly remove or disable access to the material in question and notify the user responsible for posting the content. The user then has the opportunity to submit a counter-notification asserting their rights to the content. To maintain DMCA compliance, it’s essential for OSPs to establish and follow clear procedures for receiving, processing, and responding to takedown notices and counter-notifications. If you believe there is an infringement of your copyright, please contact [email protected]
